It was great to attend the preview launch of another Christmas show on Cromer Pier. Above all to catch up with friends at this fantastic venue on our doorstep.
Olly Day was on top form as were the rest of the talented cast, it’s going to be another fabulous Christmas show. Before the press performance we gathered in the foyer to chat with organizers and volunteers who work around the clock to ensure another festive treat.
It’s remarkable the way individual acts gel together to produce such a polished performance, in a very short period of time. That’s when years of experience comes in.
The key to any variety show are the stage hands, crew, choreographers and producers who provide a solid platform for the artists to shine.
I hadn’t seen multi instrumentalist, Leo Shavers, in over a decade so it was a lovely reunion. Last time we met I photographed some promo shots for him on Cromer beach. It was wonderful to catch up.
It was evident that choreographer, Di Cooke, had worked her magic once more and she was there to compose some of the photographs for us.
The dancers looked stunning and I loved the costumes, even though it was a cold morning they braved the weather for the outdoor shots afterwards. It was worth it though and we managed to snap up some beautiful pictures.
The media was there in force and it was brilliant to have a coffee and chat with fellow photographers. The staff makes an enormous difference of course, always polite and helpful. The mince pies and mulled wine were absolutely delicious.
Have a truly magical festive run amazing people, you’re all a credit to Cromer and theatre in general.
